NORTHVILLE, Mich. (9/7/2019) -- Junior
Thomas Mueller set a personal record and was in the top 10 as the Titans hosted the 33rd Annual Running Fit-Detroit Mercy Invitational at Cass Benton Park in Northville on Saturday.
The event is the longest-running Titan tradition and featured men's and women's open 5k races, which included over 40 high schools, a boy's and girl's 1.5-mile middle school race and the Tommy Titan Kid's race as children nine and under raced against the lovable Titan mascot for 200-meters.
Detroit Mercy totaled 69 points for second place in the 4-mile race.
Mueller finished in sixth place clocking a 21:15 run, six seconds better than his mark on the course as a freshman.
Senior
Scott Smith took 14th with a time of 21:40, while senior
Adam Fraeyman was just behind him in 15th at 21:41.
The Titan harriers will be back in action at another long cross country tradition in Notre Dame's National Catholic Championships, set for Sept. 20.
