DETROIT (1/13/2020) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is set to host its Pink Game and National Girls & Women in Sports Day for women's basketball games near the beginning of February. Both are long-running traditions within the Titan women's basketball program.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day is set for Saturday, Feb. 8 inside Calihan Hall. Registration opens at 9 a.m. that morning, with the camp starting at 10:00 a.m. The game against UIC follows at 1 p.m., with all attendees for NGWSD getting into the contest for
FREE.
This year's event is open to all girls ages 6-12, who will take part in a number of activities. The day will feature a variety of sports clinics inside Calihan Hall, where student-athletes from Detroit Mercy's varsity teams will provide skill instruction and hands-on demonstrations with all attendees prior to the women's basketball game.

The cost of the program isÂ
FREE, and all participants will receive complimentary admission for the basketball game at 1 p.m. In addition, all attendees will receive lunch, a gift bag and t-shirt. More information on the day and may be found at
www.detroittitans.com/NGWSD. Detroit Red Wings In-Arena host and reporter Carley Johnston will also be on hand as a guest speaker for the event.
Detroit Mercy's Pink Game is set for Thursday, Feb. 6 against IUPUI. Proceeds from the Pink Game will go to
Gilda's Club Metro Detroit, which is a cancer support organization based in nearby Royal Oak. The Titans will have ribbons and pink T-shirts available for purchase as well as a raffle. Donations for the Pink Game may be made as soon as the Thursday, Jan. 16 game against Cleveland State and can be made at each of the four men's and four women's home games during the month of February.
The Titans are welcoming fans to donate a certain dollar amount per assist against the Jaguars with the money raised going to Gilda's Club. For more information, visit the
