DETROIT (8/12/2020) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team made it an even 10 members for its 2021 recruiting class as the Titans signed graduate transfer
Scott Shepard.
Shepard joins a talented class that includes two NCAA transfers, a junior college transfer and six high school standouts.
Shepard was a four-year letter winner at attack at Albion College, where he helped the program to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, a regular season and a conference tournament championship.
He finished ninth in school history with 64 goals and added 25 assists for 89 points along with recording 31 ground balls and eight caused turnovers in 51 career games. He was having an outstanding senior season in 2020 until it was canceled due to the pandemic as he had 17 goals and 20 points in just six games, well on his way to cruising past his career highs of 22 goals and 32 points as a junior. In his last game as a Briton, he posted a career-best six goals and tied his career-high with seven points at Hanover.
Shepard - who will work on his MBA at Detroit Mercy - starred at Bloomfield Hills High School as a prep and tallied 83 goals and 101 assists in his career. He was named both a team captain and the squad's most outstanding leader.
