DETROIT (10/13/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team will wrap up its homestand with a Horizon League battle as the Milwaukee Panthers visit Titan Field on Thursday, Oct. 14. 
 
The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+. 
 
Detroit Mercy comes into the match at 2-11-1 with a 1-5-1 record in Horizon League play following a 1-0 setback to IUPUI on Sunday. The win in HL action was a 2-1 triumph on the road at Wright State. 
 
Milwaukee comes to the Motor City 12-1 on the season and holds a perfect 7-0 mark in conference games. 
 
Last Time Out
The Titans were home on Sunday, Oct. 10 against the IUPUI Jaguars, playing to a 1-0 final.
 
Detroit Mercy would finish the match with nine total shots, landing one on net coming from Senior Hailey Wentzloff. Senior Julie Ann Piechocki finished the game with two shots, pushing her team-high tally to 27 for the year. The Titans also held a 5-2 advantage on corner kicks.  
 
The Jaguars netted the lone goal of the match in the 34th minute. 
 
Sophomore Jazmine Scott made her third consecutive start for the Titans, making three saves on the afternoon. 
 
All-Time Series 
Milwaukee has won 14-straight in the match-up and holds the advantage in the all-time series, 25-7-2. The last win was in the conference championship semifinals, a 1-0 road victory in 2006. 

The Titans are 1-11-1 at home in the series with the lone win a 3-0 decision in 1995, while the tie was a scoreless draw in 2007.

Senior Julie Ann Piechocki and Sophomore Erica Toupin lead the team with three goals apiece. 
 
Freshman Erica Leinweber and sophomore Tia Jokic each have two goals while Junior Taylor Stanley and Senior Hailey Wentzloff have each contributed one. 

Senior Status 
Senior Julie Ann Piechocki - known as junior - currently leads the team with eight points and is tied for the team lead with three goals. 
 
She has scored at Western Michigan, Toledo and Middle Tennessee State and assisted on Erica Toupin's goal at Youngstown State and Tia Jokic's goal against Robert Morris. 
 
In her career, she has 12 goals and 10 assists for 34 points. 

Toupin With 2
Sophomore Erica Toupin found the back of the net twice at Wright State, becoming the first Titan to post multiple goals in a game since 2018. 

The last Titan to score two goals in a game was Carly Fiorido against Madonna in 2018, while the last Titan to do it on a conference game was Carley Rice who scored two goals against Youngstown State and at UIC in 2016. 
 
Scott To The Rescue 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jazmine Scott took over in net following an injury to sophomore Marissa Silver against Robert Morris and held strong making five saves in 38 minutes of action to preserve a 2-2 tie. 
 
In her three starts since then, Scott has tallied eight more saves, surrendering just three goals, and picked up her first collegiate win in a 2-1 final against Wright State.

Following the game against Milwaukee on Thursday, the red, white, and blue will head back out on the road for a game in Chicago against the UIC Flames on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2:00 p.m.
