EDISON, N.J. (3/17/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team started the MAAC season with a win at home over St. Bonaventure and for their efforts, sophomore Ryan Birney and freshman Will Edell were honored by the MAAC.

Birney was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Edell was selected the Rookie of the Week. 

Birney tied his career-high with his second career hat trick posting three goals in the victory over the Bonnies. It was the second-straight home game that he has recorded three goals dating back to last season.

Edell kept up his strong rookie campaign by scoring a pair of goals for the second-straight game. Three of his four goals on the year have been with the man-up. 

The Titans will be back in action this Saturday as they visit Manhattan in a 7:00 p.m. start.
