INDIANAPOLIS (1/21/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy saw 107 student-athletes honored for their academic greatness as the Horizon League released its fall academic honor roll on Friday.
Men's soccer led that sport with 21 honorees, while the Titans had a majority of their rosters make the grade in men's and women's golf, women's soccer, softball and men's and women's track and field. Men's basketball had four representatives, while women's basketball did not have anyone eligible for the award due to everyone being in their first year at the school.
Across the Horizon League, 1,526 student-athletes achieved academic honor roll distinctions for the fall of 2021 semester with all 12 members and 19 Horizon League-sponsored sports represented. Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify:
- Participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season.
- Completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution.
- A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).
