DETROIT (12/30/25) -- The University of Detroit Mercy student athletes excelled in the classroom with one of its best semesters in the last 10 years as the Titans wrapped up the first part of the academic calendar.
"This was an incredible accomplishment, and I am so proud of our Titans!," said
Betsey Walkowiak, Director of Student-Athlete Services. "This not only shows the hard work by our student-athletes, but the dedication to academics from our coaches, athletic and University staff, and professors, and everyone deserves to be praised for these high marks."
Detroit Mercy posted a 3.40 GPA, with 16 of the 17 teams above 3.0, and the lone squad just missing the mark at 2.91.
Softball led the way with a 3.64 team GPA, ahead of women's golf's 3.57. Women's soccer had a 3.56, while men's soccer tallied a 3.52 and women's lacrosse a 3.51.Â
The semester also saw:
- 32 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPAÂ
- 169 student-athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher (53.6% of the Titans)
- 257 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher (81.5% of the Titans)
