LEWISBURG, Pa. (10/11/2022) -- Junior
Alek Mauro finished in the top 50 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team completed its second fall tournament of the season in the Bucknell Invitational.
Detroit Mercy finished 19th with a 953 (317-325-311), but ended the event with its best round at the par-70, 6,224-yard Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Mauro tied for 50th overall with a 225 (73-77-75) as he had 12 pars and a birdie in his final round of 75. He led the team with 34 pars and four birdies and also had one of the five eagles in the event as his third shot on the par 5, 15th hole went in.Â
Freshman
Vincent Levesque carded a 76 and tied for 75th with a 232 (73-83-76). He had 10 pars and a birdie on the day and had 30 pars with three birdies in the three-day tournament.Â
Freshman
Austin Brancaccio recorded a season-low 79 with 10 pars on the final 18 and was 94th with a 243 (84-80-79), while junior
Ryan Sangchompuphen placed 99th with a 253 (87-85-82).Â
Detroit Mercy will be back in action next week as the Titans head to Tennessee for the Atomic City Classic, Oct. 17-18.Â
