Megan Malek each recorded a shot as Detroit Mercy's 2022 season concluded with a 4-0 setback to arch-rival Oakland in Metro Series action on Wednesday night at the Oakland Soccer Field.
Oakland (8-3-7, 5-2-3 HL) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with tallies in the 15th and 20th minute. The Golden Grizzlies then added a back-breaker with a third goal in the 43rd minute to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Detroit Mercy (6-10-1, 4-6 HL) tried to press the attack in the second half but could not get on the board. Oakland added another late goal in the 73rd minute.
