WEST ORANGE, N.J. (11/1/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a sixth-place finish at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship on Tuesday.
After shooting their best round of the season with a 301 on Monday, the Titans posted a 307 for a 608 combined score at the par-70, 6,503-yard Montclair Golf Club.
Junior
Alek Mauro led the way, placing third with a career-best 139 (67-72), tied for the sixth-lowest 36-hole score in school history. After his career-low 67, he carded a 2-over 72 starting the day with seven-straight pars before back-to-back birdies on eight and nine. Overall, he led the team with seven birdies and 24 pars.
Freshman
Vincent Levesque tied for 31st with a 154 (75-79) as he knocked in 10 pars in the final round.Â

Austin Brancaccio was tied for 35th with a 156 (79-77) as he tied his season low with a 77 in the final round, tallying seven pars and three birdies.Â
Meanwhile, junior
Ryan Sangchompuphen posted a 159 (80-79) as he finished 42nd.Â
The fall schedule is now complete and the Titans will release their spring slate in the near future.Â
