The Titans (1-1) led, 60-52, with 10:34 left, but Boston College (2-0) closed the game with an 18-6 run despite going on a six-minute scoreless stretch.

Detroit Mercy led 34-33 at the break as Stone ended the half with an offensive rebound and putback. In the second half, the lead went back and forth when Phillips came up with an offensive rebound and fed Stone, who buried a three for a 43-40 lead at the 17:29 mark. A steal by Stone would later lead to a three by Anderson for a 49-43 advantage with just under 16 minutes remaining.

Unfortunately, the red, white and blue could not extend their lead past 64-60 with 5:41 remaining. A jumper by Stone had the team up 66-63 with under a minute to play, but BC ended the game with seven-straight points.
As a team, the Titans outrebounded the Eagles, 40-39, and forced 13 turnovers. Detroit Mercy shot 40.0% from the field and was 11-of-29 from three, while holding BC to just 11-of-33 in the first half.Â

The Eagles' biggest lead was 21-16 with 7:37 to go in the first, but the Titans started to chip away and graduate senior
TJ Moss' layup and the foul had the team up 25-24 with 3:47 left. That was followed by a three from Stone for a four-point advantage and he gave the team a lead at the break with an offensive rebound and score.Â
