DETROIT (11/10/22) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team heads off to the Great Lakes Regional Championships from the LaVern Gibson Championships course Friday, Nov. 11 hosted by Indiana State University.
Last Time Out
Detroit Mercy competed in the 2022 Horizon League Championships hosted at Oakland University.
That day it was
Josiah Burr (26:08.9) finishing 32nd with a personal record while
John Burke (26:50.9) took 60th to lead the Titans.
Detroit Mercy finished 10th as a team on the day.
Great Lakes Regional
The men's 10k championship race will begin at 11 a.m. eastern time following the women's 6k event.
Detroit Mercy is sending seven harriers to Indiana State; Burke, Burr,
Kyle Foulk,
Oscar Hernandez,
Connor Joyce,
Alexander Petlichkoff, and
Ryan Schwab.
Detroit Mercy has seen 35 top-100 finishers at regionals since 1972, including two by Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Guy Murray '89 in 1986 and 1988.
As a team the Titans have finished as high as 16th overall in 1985 and 2014. A year ago Detroit Mercy finished 27th at regionals.
