
DETROIT (12/13/2022) – Detroit Mercy softball Head Coach
Marc Gillis announced the 2023 schedule. The Titans will play a 19-game home slate at Buysse Ballpark after opening the 2023 campaign with a 15-game road swing beginning in Rosemont, Illinois where the team will play Bowling Green, Western Illinois, Evansville and Creighton at The Dome at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex (Feb. 10-12).
The Titans then travel South to Boiling Springs, North Carolina for the Red and Black Softball Tournament where they will play Harvard, Sacred Heart, UT Chattanooga and host Gardner Webb. (Mar. 4-7).
After the tournament, Detroit Mercy concludes their North Carolina road swing at Elon (Mar. 7), followed by a doubleheader at North Carolina A&T (Mar. 8) and a three-game series at Campbell (Mar. 10-11).
The Titans return to Buysse Ballpark for a nine-game home stand beginning with Mid-American Conference foe Toledo in home opening doubleheader action at on Tue., March 14 at 2 p.m.
Detroit Mercy then opens Horizon League play with a home series against Robert Morris (Mar. 17-18) followed by a series against Youngstown State (Mar. 24-25).
The Titans close out the month of March at Michigan State (Mar. 29) followed by the first league road series of the season at Purdue Fort Wayne (March 31 – April.)
After a home doubleheader against Bowling Green (Apr. 5), the Titans hit the road for a league series at Cleveland State (Apr. 7-8) before returning to Buysse Ballpark to open a six-game home stand beginning with a Metro Series showdown against arch-rival and 2022 Horizon League champion Oakland (Apr. 11-12) and concluding against Northern Kentucky (Apr. 14-15).
The Titans' final non-conference game will be at Notre Dame (Apr. 19) followed by the final home three-game set against IUPUI (Apr. 28-29).
Detroit Mercy closes out the regular season with a league series at Green Bay (May 5-6). The Horizon League Championships will be held May 10 -13.
