The Titans opened the game with balanced scoring as five players got on the board but the Sycamores closed out the flame on a 9-1 spurt to lead 19-12.
The second quarter proved to be the downfall for Detroit Mercy. Indiana State ended the half on a 28-0 run (39-8 overall) holding the Titans scoreless in the 2nd quarter to take a commanding 43-12 halftime lead. Hooper led the Titans with four points followed by Murua, freshman Ana Cabañas Llorens, Burch and Chiquemba with two points each.
Murua connected on a lay-up to open the third quarter that ended Detroit Mercy's scoring drought which began at the 1:55 mark of the first quarter. Overall the Titans' offense got back up and running scoring 18 points compared to 17 from ISU.
There was no quit in the Titans as they opened the fourth quarter on a 10-1 run to pull within 21 points at 61-40. However, it was not enough as the Sycamores ended the game on an 11-7 spurt for the win.
