James Hill finished in the top 10 and graduate senior
Drew Tucci tallied a career-low as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded play at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The event was played at the par 72, 6,859-yard Sevierville Golf Club's River Course.
Detroit Mercy posted a 296 in the second round, the second best 18-hole score of the season, and took 12th overall with a 595 (299-296).
Hill earned a share of ninth with a career 36-best 140, five shots off the lead, as he carded his second straight 2-under 70. He once again knocked in five birdies with 10 pars and tied for fourth in the event with 10 total birdies. He was also tied for sixth in the competition on the par 4's with a -3, 3.85 average en route to his fifth career top-10 finish.
Tucci tied for 50th with a career-best 149 (80-69) as he posted a career-low 3-under 69 on the day. Tucci had an immaculate scorecard on day two with three birdies, including a 15-foot putt to finish his day, and 15 pars.
Sophomore
Alek Mauro was also 50th with a 149 (73-76) as he tallied a team-best 24 pars in the event, while sophomore
Ryan Sangchompuphen finished with an 81 on the final 18, but was able to record an eagle on the par 4, 12th hole, chipping in his second shot after a great drive.
The Titans will be back in action later this month when they head to Indianapolis to compete in Butler's Spring Invitational from Mar. 28-29.
