INDIANAPOLIS (3/25/22) - Senior Taryn Peru recorded both of Detroit Mercy's hits going 2-for-2 with a run scored while senior Liz Paver posted a RBI sacrifice fly as the Titans fell 9-1 in series opening action at IUPUI on Friday afternoon at the IUPUI Softball Complex.

Recap:
• Detroit Mercy (0-17, 0-7 HL) got the bases loaded drawing three straight walks but couldn't get a run across
• IUPUI (3-22, 1-3 HL) plated three runs (one unearned) off three hits to take early 3-0 lead in the first
• The Titans get on the board off a sac fly from Paver to score Peru in the top of the second inning
• The Jaguars once again responded in the bottom half with a two-run homer to increase the lead to 5-1
• After neither team plated runs in the third, IUPUI added two runs on off a RBI triple and throwing error in the bottom of the fourth to move ahead 7-1
• The Jags added a pair of runs off two RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth to seal their first #HLSB win of the season

Both teams will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 26 beginning at 1 p.m. weather provided.
