INDIANAPOLIS (6/15/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf and women's soccer teams were honored by the Horizon League with the annual Raise Your Sights award.

The honor is given annually to the best sports teams academically and is based on a combined grade point average (GPA) from the current academic year. The award recognizes the top academic male and female teams from each Horizon League institution. 

The women's soccer team - composed of 35 student-athletes - posted a team GPA of 3.57. The Titans had 30 players earn a 3.0 GPA with 21 garnering a 3.5 GPA. The program was one of only two HL teams that received the accolade with more than 20 members on its roster. 

Meanwhile, all eight Detroit Mercy golfers tallied a cumulative GPA over 3.0 during the past year with eight of the student-athletes recording at least a 3.5 GPA as the team tallied an overall 3.64 GPA.
