
DETROIT (6-22-22) – The Detroit Mercy women's basketball team has added high school standout Myonna Hooper announced first year Head Coach
Kate Achter. Hooper comes to the Titans from West Bloomfield High School where she helped lead the Lakers to the program's first Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 1 Girls Basketball State Championship during the 2021-22 season.

• Helped lead No. 1 West Bloomfield to a 25-1 overall record and 51-42 win over Heartland to claim the program's first Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 1 Girls Basketball State Championship during the 2021-22 season
• Also helped the Lakers to a 12-0 conference record to claim the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red title
• Averaged 11.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.1 steals while shooting 43% from 3-point range during senior campaign
• Scored 14 points and converted four consecutive free throws after the game was tied at 58-58 to help West Bloomfield to a 66-63 win over Rockford in the 2022 MHSAA Division 1 State Semifinals
• Scored 19 points helping West Bloomfield to a 65-62 win over Detroit Edison Academy to become the first team from Michigan to defeat Edison since 2018.
• Named Motor City Roundball Classic MVP after scoring 19 points in WBHS 65-60 win over Brighton
