BUFFALO, NY (10/14/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team saw all its harriers tally career bests, with one nearly posting a top 10 time in school history, at the Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday.
The Titans finished in fourth place with 120 points at the 8k race held in Delaware Park in Buffalo, New York.
Sophomore
Joshua Otten recorded his fourth-straight personal record, and this one in a big way, as he claimed sixth overall in 24:27, the 12th fastest 8k time in school history and the best by a Titan since Ben Kendell '17 at the Horizon League Championships in 2018.
Freshman
Christopher Russelburg was 23rd with a season-low 25:40, while junior
Kenny Lashaway placed 32nd in a career-low 26:14.
Senior
Kyle Foulk ran a career-best 26:36 for 40th and junior
Nicholas Fringer clocked a career time of 26:44 for 45th.
Junior
Isaiah Bonner and freshmen
Elijah Jorgensen,
Reuben Philip and
Kenyon Popiel also all recorded career lows for the 5k.
UDM will now get ready for the Horizon League Championships on Oct. 28, hosted by Wright State at Fairborn Community Park.
