BUFFALO (10/17/2026) -- Graduate senior
Joshua Otten won his second race of the season as the University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team was runner-up at the Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday.
Detroit Mercy scored 71 points to share first with the host Golden Griffins and trailed only the University at Buffalo alumni team at the 8k event, held at Delaware Park in Buffalo, New York.
Otten tied his career best - and the best mark for a Titan at Canisius - with a winning time of 23:55, one second shy of the school record. He is the 11th Titan to win multiple races in his career and the eighth to register multiple victories in a single season after taking the season opener at home.
Otten now has the most sub-24-minute and sub-25-minute 8k runs in school history and the third-most sub-26 efforts.
