Levesque Cards Titans Best Round As Men's Golf Closes Out NKU Jewell Invite

Freshman Vincent Levesque tallied a 74 to close out play at NKU.
BATAVIA, Ohio (4/11/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf ended the NKU Jewell Invitational on Tuesday

As a team, the Titans were 13th with a 916 (305-304-307) at the par 71, 6,845-yard Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio. 

Junior Alek Mauro led the Titans with a 226 (74-74-78) for 51st. He ended his final round with 12 pars and topped the team with 31 pars to go with five birdies and an eagle. 

Junior Ryan Sangchompuphen was right behind him with a 228 (74-76-78) to share 57th place. His final round saw him post seven pars and two birdies. 

Freshman Vincent Levesque had the best round on the day for Detroit Mercy with a 3-over 74 as he finished tied for 64th with a 231 (82-75-74). His final 18 saw him register eight pars and four birdies, and he led the team with 10 birdies in the event. 

Junior Matthew Schultz tied for 69th with a 234 (76-81-77), while freshman Austin Brancaccio was 77th with a 239 (81-79-77). 

The red, white and blue will have one final tournament before the Horizon League Championship as they compete in the Wright State Invite April 16-17.
