Guershom Sylvain added two shots as Detroit Mercy fell 2-0 to Green Bay in the #HLMSOC home opener on Saturday night at Titan Field.
The Titans (0-5, 0-1HL) almost got on board early in the game in the 10th minute as Pierson got the ball inside the 18-yard and fired a shot to the low left side forcing Green Bay (3-1-1, 1-0 HL) goalkeeper Tobias Jahn to make a diving save.
Both teams played even over the next 30 minutes until the Phoenix got on the board in the 41st minute to take a 1-0 lead just before halftime.
Green Bay then added an insurance goal during the 72nd minute to increase the lead en route to the win.
Detroit Mercy returns to non-conference action with a game at in-state foe Western Michigan on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m.
