MILWAUKEE (2-22-24) - Senior
Jada Moorehead caught fire in the second quarter going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field connecting on consecutive and-1 layups and hitting both ensuing free throw opportunities to score 12 of her career-high 18 points and as Detroit Mercy battled to the end before coming up short at Milwaukee on Thursday Night. For the game, Moorehead went 6-for-12 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line with seven rebounds and two assists.
Junior
Emma Trawally Porta once again just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds also going a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe while dishing out a career-best four assists with three blocks. Freshman
Paris Gilmore was the last player in double figures with 10 points and four assists. Senior
Lucia Fleta Robles added five points in her first start of the season. Sophomore

Irene Murua each chipped in with four points.
Detroit Mercy (15-13, 8-9 HL) hit a pair over season second-bests posting 16 assists on 19 made baskets while going 15-for-17 (88.2%) from the free throw line.
Trailing 53-44 with 3:45 in the fourth quarter, Murua made a layup followed by a 3-pointer from Fleta Robles and a pair of Moorehead free throws to cap off a 7-0 run to pull within two points at 53-51 with 1:18 to go. After Milwaukee's (15-14, 9-9 HL) Kendall Nead hit a jumper to end the Panther's two-minute scoring drought, Trawally Ports connected on a clutch layup to once again pull the Titans within two points at 55-53 with 31 seconds to go. UDM had two fouls to give before putting Milwaukee on the free throw line to extend the game.
The Panthers sank both free throws to move up by four points, 57-53, with 25 ticks left. Trawally Porta was fouled down low and also sank the pair from the charity strip cutting the deficit again to two points, 57-55, with 11 seconds left forcing the Titans to foul. The Panthers once again hit the pair to go up four points and Fleta Robles' ensuing 3-pointer was off the mark with six seconds left. Milwaukee then added two more from the line for the six-point win.
In the third quarter, the Titans moved ahead 33-31 off a Gilmore floater in the lane halfway through at the 5:12 mark. However, Milwaukee went on to outscore UDM 11-5 to close out the frame with a 42-38 lead.
Milwaukee opened the second quarter with the first five points. After that, Trawally Porta made a layup and it was the Morehead show from there. She hit a jumper and connected on back-to-back and-1 layups and free throws to cap off a 10-0 run giving UDM their first lead of the game at 25-24. After four points from the Panthers to retake the lead, Fleta Robles banked home a jumper pulling the Titans within a point at 28-27 heading into the locker room.
Buckets were hard to come by in the first quarter as the defenses for both teams were on point. The Titans fell behind 6-0 before Gilmore hit a 3-pointer and jumper. Trawally Porta added a layup followed by a pair of free throws as UDM trailed 12-9 at the end of the frame.
