DETROIT (4/16/2024) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team has a number of alums who have been busy in the professional world in the game they love.
Willie Green '03 is gearing up for the NBA playoffs as the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans for the second time in his three seasons, while another alum,
LaMarcus Lowe, helped March Madness shine in the Motor City a few weeks ago as a member of the technology department at Little Caesars Arena.
As for professional basketball, the Titans have over 20 players overseas.
- Damezi Anderson is also in Germany with the Panthers Schwenningen and just scored 19 points with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals as the squad just upset one of the top teams in the league Loewen. On the year, he has scored 14.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.6 steals per game.
- Madut Akec is in Lebanon with Mayrouba and just recorded a double-double with 21 and 12 rebounds as he posted 21.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.
- Paris Bass is in South Korea with the Suwon KT Sonicboom and just posted a double-double with 33 points and 17 rebounds, along with five steals and three assists. On the season, he is tallying 25.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 steals in 58 games.
- Evan Bruinsma is currently in Turkey and just helped Onvo Buyukcekmece Basketbol down the 13th-ranked Tofas as he netted 10 points and six rebounds. On the year, he is posting 10.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 26 games.
- Kameron Chatman is in the Czech Republic, suiting up for Pardubice and just helped the team reach the playoffs. He is averaging 16.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists.
- Antoine Davis finished his first pro season with the Rip City Remix, the G-League affiliate for Portland Trail Blazers. He posted 12, 20-point games on the season, with a season-high of 41. He led the G-League with 141, 3-pointers and averaged 14.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
- Eli Holman joined Mahram in Iran and is coming off a great game with 15 points and 14 rebounds as the team finished in fifth place in the Iranian Superleague and has won all seven of its playoff games so far. On the year, he is averaging 12.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 blocks per game.
- Willy Isiani is back in his home country of Georgia with Tbilisi State and just registered 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over third-place Delta. He is currently posting 8.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
- Thomas Kennedy is still scoring at a high pace as the all-time scorer in Japan is playing with the Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots and is averaging 12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds.
- Bul Kuol is back in Australia with the Cairns Taipans and averaged 12.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
- Gerald Liddell is in Bulgaria with Akademik Plovdiv and is currently in the playoffs. He just recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards and is tallying 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
- Cole Long is in Sweden with Nassjo and is tallying 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 35 games.
- Ray McCallum is in the playoffs with Karditsas in Greece and has registered 11.7 points, 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
- Josh McFolley is playing pro ball in Luxembourg with T71 and just scored 22 points and four rebounds against first-place Esch. He is tallying 24.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.2 steals in 22 games.
- Nick Minnerath is still playing at a high level with Shabab Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates. He just scored 18 points with seven rebounds and is averaging 23.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
- Prince Oduro is with HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim in Germany and has posted 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 20 games this season.
