DETROIT (8/20/2024) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field runner
Nicole Meisner '15 was honored for her high school and collegiate achievements as she will be inducted into the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall Of Fame.
The ceremony is set for Oct. 29 at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield.
Also being inducted are Eric Weberman, Eric Fishman, Jake Friedman and Nathan Edmunds, while the Hall of Fame Pillars of Excellence will see Steve Matz, Jim Berk, Mort Plotnick, Gary Gerson and Michael Fishman honored. Jalen Rose will receive the highest honor in the Alvin & Shirley Memorial Inspiration Award.
Meisner ran for the Titans from 2010-2015 and was the team's Student-Athlete award winner for indoor and outdoor in 2012 and the Most Improved for indoor track in 2011.
In her career, she scored in the Horizon League Championships in the 60, 100 and 200-meters and on the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays. She earned All-League honors on the runner-up 4x400 at the outdoor championships in 2011 and a bronze in the 200m at the 2012 outdoor meet and on the 4x400 at the indoor league event in 2013.
She still holds top-10 marks in the 60, 100, 200, 4x100 and 4x400, including the second best 60m time of 7.75 at the time of her graduation.
