Women's Track & Field Announces 2025 Recruiting Class

DETROIT (8/13/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team will add another bundle of talent with a strong recruiting class for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

The track and field team will have 15 total additions to the roster to help build talent and depth across all units.

"Another recruit class at record total that will fill some holes in the line-up and give us a competitive roster in all events and includes some instant impact athletes that will bolster some strong areas for us," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Guy Murray '89, his 33rd leading the Titan program. 

Sophia Aquino * Mid-Distance * Shelby Township, Mich. * Utica
  • A four-year letterwinner in cross country and track, who will also compete in cross country for the Titans
  • Was a state qualifier in cross country as a junior and senior
  • Helped her team reach the state finals as a senior for the first time since 2006, as the program won a league championship and the MAC White divisional meet

Ayla Bowers * Throws * Lansing, Mich. * East Lansing
  • Lettered in basketball, volleyball, and track and field
  • Two-time All-Conference in the shot put
  • A member of the National Honor Society

Nadia Hill * Jumps/Hurdles * Muskegon, Mich. * Muskegon
  • A multi-letterwinner in basketball, volleyball, and track and field
  • Was the team MVP as a junior
  • Was All-Region and All-Conference in the high jump as a junior and senior
  • Holds her school's high jump record

Madison Montgomery * Sprints * Ithaca, Mich. * Ithaca
  • Lettered in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and track and field
  • A two-time All-State selection on the 4x400
  • Was the sprints team MVP as a junior
  • Two-team All-Conference in the 100-meters as well as All-Conference in the 200m and 400m
  • Helped her team to a 2024 division championship in track and field
  • Holds top five times in school history in the 100m, 200m, and 400m
  • Ran club with the Ithaca Track Club and was a 4x400 state qualifier
  • A member of the National Honor Society

Abigail Mullings * Jumps * Minesing, Ont, * Barrie North Collegiate 
  • A varsity letterwinner in basketball and track and field
  • Tabbed the Junior Athlete of the Year
  • Named track and field MVP three times
  • Earned a silver in the triple jump at the Provincial Championships as a freshman and has been top 10 the last three seasons
  • Won the triple jump at the OFSAA Central Region and at the conference championship as a junior, and was also third in the long jump at the league meet
  • Ran club with the Flying Angels Track and Field Academy, posting a pair of wins in the triple jump and three golds in the long jump 

Kynnedi Patterson * Sprints * Kalamazoo, Mich. * Kalamazoo Central
  • Lettered in basketball and track and field
  • Set the school mark in the 100-meters and also helped his quartet break the school's 4x100 record
  • Ran club with the Blazers

Jariana Rivas * Jumps * Easton, Pa. * Easton Area
  • Earned letters in basketball, soccer and track and field
  • A two-time All-Conference honoree in the long jump
  • Also All-Area and All-County in the long jump 
  • Helped her team to a runner-up finish in the conference and third at the regionals in 2024

Mia Seaton * Sprints * Chicago, Ill. * Whitney Young
  • A four-year letterwinner in track and field
  • A four-time city champion
  • Helped her team win a state title in 2022
  • Ran club with the Windy City Hammers and was an All-American in the 4x100 and 4x400

Alaa Selman * Dearborn Heights * Crestwood 
  • Earned varsity letters in cross country, track and field, and soccer and will also compete in cross country for the Titans
  • A three-year captain in cross country and track and field
  • Earned All-Conference in cross country all four years and was also All-Academic
  • Helped her team win three conference championships
  • Tabbed with the Coach's Award in cross country as a junior and senior
  • Was named the track MVP as a sophomore and junior, and the Coaches Award as a junior
  • Holds the school record for the 400 and 800 meters and the mile

Imani Sharp * Sprints * Wake Forest, N.C. * Wakefield
  • A four-year letterwinner in track and field
  • Has been selected All-Conference and All-Academic three times in her career
  • A state qualifier in the 50-meters, 100m, 200m, 400m, the 4x100 and 4x800 in her prep career
  • Ran club with RunUxpress and helped her squad win the 4x100 at the Rising Stars, and also ran at the USATF Junior Olympics
  • A member of the National Honor Society

Addie Stanley * Indianapolis, Ind. * Cathedral
  • Earned varsity letters in cross country and track and field and will also be on the Titans cross country team
  • Selected the cross country team MVP as a senior and the Newcomer Award as a sophomore
  • Earned Cathedral High Honors for all three seasons and helped her team win the Nike Twilight as a senior, where she finished seventh
  • Was an All-American in cross country for USATF in 2003
  • In track and field, she was a state qualifier on the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay, helping her quartet break the school record in both events

Bella Thibodeau * Hurdles/Sprints * Farmington Hills, Mich. * North Farmington
  • Earned varsity letters in gymnastics, swimming and diving and track and field
  • Was All-League and All-Region in the 300-meter hurdles as a senior
  • Awarded the 2025 Female Athlete of the Year, the Raider Cup, and the Najiba Gaines-Hanna Hurdler and 4×4 Warrior Award  

Mimi Trupiano * Sprints * Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. * Grosse Pointe North
  • Letters in cross country and track and field
  • Named the team MVP as a senior
  • Won the Coaches Award twice and was a Scholar Athlete all four years
  • A three-time All-Conference honoree in track and field
  • Holds top five times in school history in the 200 and 400-meters

Kendal Waligorsk * Pole Vault * Ludington, Mich. * Ludington (West Shore CC)
  • A varsity letterwinner in golf and track and field
  • Tabbed the school's Field MVP as a senior
  • Earned All-State in the pole vault as a sophomore and senior
  • Was a three-time All-Conference honoree

Abby Winkle * Sprints * Grand Rapids, Mich. * South Christian (Ferris State)
  • A transfer from Ferris State, who tallied the second-best indoor 400-meter time and the third-best indoor 200m time and helped her team break the Bulldogs' 4x100 record
  • Lettered in basketball, soccer, cross country and track and field in high school
  • A two-time All-State selection in the 200m and 400m as well as All-State in the 100m
  • Was All-Conference three times
  • Set school records in the 100m, 200m and 800m
