With 16.2 seconds left and the game tied at 52-52, fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen stole a pass on the low block and was off to the races finding senior Katie Burton streaking down the court, who connected on the game-winning buzzer-beating layup with .01 seconds on the clock giving Detroit Mercy a thrilling 54-52 win at Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon at the Klotsche Center. This is UDM's first road win at Milwaukee since Jan. 28, 2016, and the Titans are 12-5 overall to start the season for the first time in 28 years since the 1996-97 season.
 
The layup matched Burton's career-high with nine points while grabbing a career-best nine rebounds. Graduate student Emaia O'Brien led all scorers with 18 points, on 6-for-11 shooting, 3-for-5 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. McQueen had an off-scoring night with six points but had a solid all-around game, grabbing six rebounds while matching a career-best six assists and a career-best four blocks with three steals defensively. Graduate student Emaia O'Brien posted a team-high 15 points, while fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen added nine points as Detroit Mercy had trouble solving Green Bay's defense as the Titans fell 70-47 on Thursday night at the Kress Center.
 
Detroit Mercy (11-5, 5-3 HL) hung tough through most of the game but could not overcome two crucial runs by Green Bay (14-5, 7-1 HL) in the second and fourth quarters, which proved to be the difference. Sophomore Makayla Jackson had seven points, graduate student Jasmine Edwards had four points, and senior Alize Tripp and freshman Anna Lassan both connected on a 3-point bucket. Freshman Maya Anderson and senior Katie Burton had two points each to round out scoring for the Titans.
 
Achter Earns 100th Career Win as Titans Take Out Arch-Rival Oakland in Metro Series Action
Game 15 - Detroit Mercy 67 vs Oakland 59 - Jan. 11, 2025:
Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen's second consecutive double-double was a sweet one as she poured in 21 points with a Titan career-high 17 rebounds against her former team to lead Detroit Mercy to a 67-59 Metro Series win over arch-rival Oakland securing Head Coach Kate Achter's 100th career-win. Graduate student Emaia O'Brien also scored a game-high 23 points on 4-for-9 shooting from long range and 7-for-11 from the free throw line.
McQueen and O'Brien accounted for 44 Detroit Mercy's (11-4, 5-2 HL) 67 points and this was the second game of the season with them each scoring 20 points or more. Junior Myonna Hooper added nine points, while freshman Kailey Starks and sophomore Makayla Jackson each chipped in with six points.
 
Game 14 - Detroit Mercy 64 at Wright State 67 - Jan. 8, 2025:
Detroit Mercy battled back from a 10-point halftime deficit with a second-half rally, but came up short as junior Myonna Hooper's game-tying 3-point bid at the buzzer rimmed out as the Titans fell 67-64 at Wright State on Wednesday night at the Nutter Center.
 
Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen had another great performance, scoring a game-high 24 points with 11 rebounds, securing her third double-double of the season while coming up short of a triple-double with six steals defensively. Freshman Kailey Starks matched a season second-best with 13 points with three boards, while graduate student Emaia O'Brien was held to since digits with eight points for only the second time all season. Senior Maddie Diabate chipped in with a career-best six points, making her second consecutive start. Hooper finished with seven points.
 
Game 13 - Detroit Mercy 62 vs Cleveland State 72 - Jan. 5, 2025:
Detroit Mercy mounted a third-quarter charge led by Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen's 16 points and 15 points from graduate student Emaia O'Brien, but the comeback fell short as the Titans suffered a 72-62 setback to Cleveland State for their first #HLWBB and home loss of the season on Sunday afternoon at Calihan Hall.

Four players reached double figures, led by junior Myonna Hooper, who poured in a game-high 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting, 3-for-6 from long range, and 6-for-8 from the free throw line as Detroit Mercy held off a late charge from IU Indy for a 67-59 win on New Year's Day at Calihan Hall. The Titans are off to a 4-0 start in #HLWBB play for the first time since the 1996-97 season and 10-2 overall for the first time in 45 years since the 1979-80 season.
 
Graduate Student Emaia O'Brien scored 14 points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe, while fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen also added 14 points with nine rebounds. Sophomore Makayla Jackson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting with a career-best five steals defensively giving her nine steals over the last two games.
 
Titans Take Down RMU for Third Straight Road Win
Game 11 - Detroit Mercy 66 at Robert Morris 58 - Dec. 28, 2024:
Graduate student Emaia O'Brien scored a team-high 19 points to lead Detroit Mercy to a third consecutive road win with a 66-58 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon inside the UPMC Events Center. With the win, the Titans move to 3-0 in #HLWBB play for the second consecutive season with a 9-2 overall record to start the season for the first time in 43 years since the 1981-82 season.
 
O'Brien reached double figures for the 10th time this season, shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range with three steals. Fifth-year guard Aaliyah McQueen added 13 points, grabbing a game-high eight rebounds, while sophomore Makayla Jackson chipped in 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting, matching a career-best four steals, helping UDM to their fourth straight meeting over the Colonials (5-8, 1-3 HL). For the game, Detroit Mercy shot 20-of-48 from the field and a blistering 10-of-21 (47.6) from three-point range while going 16-of-22 from the charity stripe with 12 steals defensively.

Fresh off a 24-point performance on Wednesday, Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen took it to another level, dropping a huge double-double, scoring a Titan career-high 30 points on 11-for-15 shooting, 4-for-5 from 3-point range and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while grabbing 11 rebounds with two steals and a block to lead Detroit Mercy to a thrilling 79-71 double-overtime win at Valparaiso on Saturday afternoon.
UDM had four total players in double figures as freshman Kailey Starks poured in a career-high 16 points, going 6-for-11 from the field, just missing a double-double with nine boards and three steals. Graduate student Emaia O'Brien also just missed a double-double with 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals defensively, while sophomore Makayla Jackson added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Game 9 - Detroit Mercy 65 at Youngstown State 58 - Dec. 18, 2024:
Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen graduate student Emaia O'Brien put on quite a show as they combined for 44 points, leading Detroit Mercy to a 65-58 come-from-behind win over Youngstown State in #HLWBB action on Wednesday night at the Zidian Family Arena at the Beeghly Center. This marked the first road win of the season and moved the Titans to 7-2 to start the season for the first time in 43 years since the 1981-82 season.
 
McQueen just missed a double-double scoring a Titan career-high 24 points on 8-for-15 from the field, 6-for-7 from the free throw line, with a pair of triples while grabbing nine rebounds with three blocks. O'Brien added 20 points going 9-for-12 from the charity stripe with a triple. McQueen and O'Brien's performances marked the first time a tandem of Titan players each scored 20 points or more since Anja Marinkovic (20) and Nicole Urbanick (20) vs. UIC on Dec. 31, 2016. Senior Katie Burton added five points with sophomore Makayla Jackson chipping in with four points.
 
Game 8 - Detroit Mercy 54 at No. 20 Michigan 100 - Dec. 14, 2024:
Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen reached double figures for the fifth straight game, scoring a team-high 15 points while graduate student Emaia O'Brien also hit double figures for the fifth consecutive time adding 11 points going 8-for-9 from the free throw line as Detroit Mercy suffered their second loss of the season to a Big Ten opponent with a 100-54 setback at No. 20 Michigan on Saturday afternoon at the Crisler Center.
 
Senior Katie Burton made her season and Titan debut, chipping in with nine points. Freshmen Anna Lassan added a new career-high eight points hitting a 3-pointer while going a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

Game 7 - Detroit Mercy 81 vs Cleary 55 - Dec. 8, 2024:
Detroit Mercy had four players reach double figures, led by graduate student Emaia O'Brien, who was hot from behind the arc, going 4-for-6, scoring a Titan career-high 22 points all in the first half. She fell just two points shy of her collegiate career-high of 24 with four steals defensively as the Titans rolled by Cleary, 81-55, on Sunday afternoon at Calihan Hall. With the win, the Titans are off to a 6-1 start for the first time in 45 years since the 1979-80 season.
 
Graduate student Alize Tripp posted a Titan career-high 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting, 2-for-3 from long range, and 2-for-2 from the free throw line with three assists and three steals. Sophomore Makayla Jackson posted 14 points, while fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen chipped in with 10 points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while matching a career-best six assists.
 
Senior Chanteese Craig added a season and Titan career-best seven points followed by four points from freshman Maya Anderson, while senior Latifa Amzil scored her first point of the season with two and added a pair of helpers. All three players each grabbed four rebounds. Freshman Kailey Starks grabbed a career-high eight rebounds boards giving her 15 over the past two games.

Sophomore Makayla Jackson posted a career-high 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting while fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen and graduate student Emaia O'Brien each added 18 points to complete the trifecta leading Detroit Mercy to a 67-56 win over Wright State snapping a 14-game skid to the Raiders on Wednesday night in #HLWBB opening action. With the win, the Titans are off to a 5-1 start for the first time in 39 years since the 1985-86 season.
 
O'Brien went a perfect 3-for-3 from the 3-point line, with two being fouled on the shot, leading to one four-point play. McQueen also grabbed eight boards with a Titan career-best six steals, just missing her career-high by one. Freshman Kailey Starks chipped in with five points grabbing a career-high seven boards with a career-best three assists.
 
Titans Clip Eagles Moving to 4-1 on the Season for the First Time in 38 Years
Game 5 - Detroit Mercy 72 vs Eastern Michigan 61 - Nov. 26, 2024:
For the first time in 38 years since the 1986-87 season, Detroit Mercy is 4-1 to start the season after a convincing 72-61 win over in-state rival Eastern Michigan on Tuesday night at Calihan Hall. Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen posted a Titan career-high 19 points on 8-for-17 shooting while just missing a double-double with eight rebounds. With the win, the Titans also completed the season sweep of all three opponents from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in EMU, Western Michigan, and Bowling Green.
 
Graduate Student Emaia O'Brien added 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field with four assists and three steals. Sophomore Makayla Jackson was the third player in double figures with 10 points also shooting 5-for-10 from the field just missing her career-high of 12 points. Junior Myonna Hooper matched a career-best dishing out six assists with five boards.
 
Graduate Student Alize Tripp also added her Titan career-best with nine points, going 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Graduate Student Jasmine Edwards and freshman Kailey Starks each had six points while Maddie Diabate added four. Freshman Addisen Mastriano posted her first collegiate points with four and added two assists.
 
Titans Buck Broncos Behind Late Fourth Quarter Run
Game 4 - Detroit Mercy 72 vs Western Michigan 63 - Nov. 23, 2024:
With Detroit Mercy trailing 53-52 and 6:11 remaining in the fourth quarter, UDM went on a 16-4 run to close out Western Michigan, securing a 72-63 win to stay unbeaten at Calihan Hall on Saturday afternoon. After going scoreless in the first half, junior Myonna Hooper came up clutch, scoring all eight of her points in the fourth quarter, including converting two-and-1 layups with ensuing free throw makes to spark the Titan run. In addition to the late run, Detroit Mercy (3-1) shot a season-best 10-for-17 (58.8%) from 3-point range, which proved to be the difference.

Graduate Student Jasmine Edwards had a solid all-around game once again, just missing a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds with two assists, three steals, and two blocks defensively. Freshmen Kailey Starks also posted her second consecutive impressive effort with nine points, four boards, two assists, and two steals. Senior Alize Tripp chipped in with six points while freshman Anna Lassan connected on her first collegiate 3-pointer.
 
Game 3 - Detroit Mercy 44 at Michigan State 101 - Nov. 20, 2024:
Freshman Kailey Starks had a solid breakout game against some tough competition, scoring a team-high 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free throw line with four steals defensively as Detroit Mercy suffered their first lost of the season with a 101-44 setback at Michigan State on Wednesday night at the Breslin Center.
 
Fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen added seven points with six rebounds, while senior Alize Tripp chipped in with six points, going a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. Sophomore Makayla Jackson also added six points, with freshman Anna Lassan scoring five points, going 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
 
Four Titans Score in Double Figures in Win Over Bellarmine
Game 2 - Detroit Mercy 73 vs Bellarmine 71 - Nov. 16, 2024:
Detroit Mercy had four players reach double figures, led by fifth-year senior Aaliyah McQueen and junior Myonna Hooper with 16 each followed by graduate student Emaia O'Brien with 11 points and sophomore Makayla Jackson with 10 points as the Titans defeated Bellarmine 73-71 handing the Knights their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon.
 
Graduate student Jasmine Edwards just missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Detroit Mercy (2-0) was active on the defensive end grabbing 16 steals with McQueen and Jackson having four each. The Titans also posted 29 points off 21 Bellarmine (3-1) turnovers.
 
Titans Hold Off Bowling Green to Secure Season Opening Win
Game 1 - Detroit Mercy 73 vs Bowling Green 66 - Nov. 8, 2024:
Junior Myonna Hooper poured in a career-high 24 points on 7-for-9 shooting, 2-for-4 from 3-point range, 8-for-11 from the free throw line, with four assists to lead Detroit Mercy to a solid 73-66 win over Bowling Green in home opening action on Friday night at Calihan Hall. The Titans' win snapped a 10-game skid against Head Coach Kate Achter's alma mater and was the first win over the Falcons since a 67-62 decision on Nov. 20, 2002.

Exhibition Game: Detroit Mercy 100 vs UM-Dearborn 53 - Nov. 6, 2024
For the second consecutive season, the game was part of Field Trip Day, where the Titans hosted students from multiple grade schools from the Metro Detroit area to give back to the community.
