Mason Sokolowski registered his fourth career top-20 performance as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up the fall campaign with the conclusion of the Xavier Invitational on Tuesday.
Detroit Mercy had two players in the top 30 and three in the top 50 as it tallied a 901 (302-302-299) to tie for eighth at the par 70, 7,109-yard Maketewah Country Club in Cincinati, Ohio.Â
Sokolowski was the top Titan, sharing 17th place with a 221 (71-77-73). He started the day with eight pars in his first nine holes and finished with 13 pars and a birdie for a 3-over 70. He led the team with 34 pars and knocked in five birdies in the event.
Junior
David Swab tied for 26th with a 223 (76-74-73) as he ended the day with nine pars and three birdies, tying for the team lead with seven birdies overall.
Redshirt sophomore
Ethan Oblak carded a career-best 227 (75-79-73) as he tied his career-low with a 3-over 73, recording 11 pars and three birdies. He also tied for the team lead with seven birdies in the two days.
Freshman
Peyton Lawley was 59th with a 232 (80-72-80) and sophomore
Ryan Kruschka placed 74th, shooting a 243 (78-83-82).
