WESTLAKE, Ohio (Oct. 7, 2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team had a pair of players in the top 40 as the Titans concluded Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Tuesday.
Detroit Mercy placed 10th with an 888 (296-292-300) at the par-71, 6,811-yard Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio.
Freshman
Peyton Lawley led the way as the rookie carded a season-low 219 (74-73-72) for a share of 30th, firing a pair of season-low rounds in the event. In his final round, he played his first 15 holes and 1-under before finishing with a 1-over 72, tapping in two birdies and 14 pars. Overall, he led the Titans with seven birdies in the 54 holes and tied for 10th in the field playing the par 4's to an even-par 4.00 average.
Junior
Mason Sokolowski tied for 36th with a 220 (72-73-75) as he posted a 4-over 71 on the day, knocking in a birdie and 13 pars.
Junior
David Swab registered a 224 (77-70-77) and tied for 51st, leading the team with 37 total pars, while
Gowtham Nalluri shot a 225 (73-76-76) for 59th.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action next week, Oct. 13-14, as they compete in Central Michigan's Chippewa Invitational, held at the Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan.
