SOUTH BEND, Ind. (11/7/2025) -- Sophomore
TJ Nadeau posted a career-high 24 points, but Notre Dame was too strong as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team dropped a 102-70 contest on the road on Friday night.
Nadeau was a career-best 9-of-14 from the field, including hitting a career-high six 3-pointers, to go with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Senior
Orlando Lovejoy had six points, two steals, and dished out six assists, while junior
Ayden Carter had eight points and four rebounds.
The Titan (0-2) had a 5-2 lead as Nadeau connected on a triple and a jumper, and the game was then tied at 7-7 as Nadeau added another basket.
Notre Dame (2-0) then went on a run for a 20-10 lead, but sophomore
Nate Johnson had a layup and Lovejoy scored on back-to-back possessions to trim it to 22-16 at the 7:44 mark. UDM inched even closer at 24-19 as freshman
Keshawn Fisher nailed a three, but the Fighting Irish responded to go up by 10 again, 31-21.
The titans got within six at 32-26 off a Carter acrobatic layup, but Notre Dame took a 44-31 lead at the break.
The Fighting Irish then started the second half on a 20-5 run, and UDM could not recover.
Fisher finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Johnson had seven points, and redshirt freshman
Tyler Spratt netted seven points. Freshman
Je'kel Cotton also grabbed a team-high seven boards.
