Detroit Mercy Concludes Competition at the Schiller Duals

EVANSTON, ILL. (2-3-25) – Three fencers posted double-digit wins led freshman Sophia Baez on the women's team with 15 followed by sophomore Arturo Rangel who posted 13 on the men's side. Freshman Lusciana Ruiz also recorded 12 wins as Detroit Mercy completed competition at the Schiller Duals hosted by Northwestern on Sunday.

Meet Highlights:
• The women's team recorded a 17-5 team win over Wheaton
• The men's sabre squad played Wheaton to a 4-4 tie
• Sophomore Miller and Baez combined for a 5-3 mark to earn a sabre weapon win over cross-town rival Wayne State
• Sophomore Nathan Mysiorek (sabre) returned to action, posting six wins
• Freshman Lusciana Ruiz (epee) and Miller ranked second on the women's side with eight wins each
• Junior Madison Fischer (foil) went 2-1 in the 6-3 weapon win over Weaton
