Women's Lacrosse Looks For Playoff Opportunity On Sunday

DETROIT (4/24/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will look to do exactly what they did last season - win its final home game to get into the playoffs - as the Titans host Central Michigan on Sunday.

Game time is set for Noon and will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with Steven MacDonald '23 on the call.

The Titans come into the game at 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the MAC, while Central Michigan is 5-9, 3-2 in league play, as both teams need a victory to clinch a playoff spot with a win.

A win could have the Titans rise to the No. 3 seed if Akron loses to Robert Morris, where UDM would play Eastern Michigan in the semifinals, at RMU.  A win coupled with an Akron victory will have the Titans at No. 4 and will play top-seeded Akron in the semifinals, at Akron.

Last season, UDM defeated Kent State, 15-11, in its final MAC regular season contest to earn the fourth seed, where the red, white and blue made a run to the championship.

LET'S TALK PLAYOFFS
  • It is pretty simple for the Titans - WIN - the same spot they were in last year when they defeated Kent State, 15-11, in its final MAC regular season.
  • A win could have the Titans rise to the No. 3 seed if Akron loses to Robert Morris, where UDM would play Eastern Michigan in the semifinals, at RMU.
  • A win coupled with an Akron victory will have the Titans at No. 4 and will play top-seeded Akron in the semifinals, at Akron.

VS. CENTRAL MICHIGAN
