UDM Prepares For Key Road Showdown At Eastern Michigan On Sunday

Senior Brooke Parrillo and the Titans will look for another road MAC win.
DETROIT (4/4/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will look to stay perfect in Mid-American Conference play as the Titans make the short bus ride to Eastern Michigan on Sunday.

Game time is set for 11:00 a.m., at Scicluna Field and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The red, white and blue took care of business at home last week, defeating Akron, 10-8, to move to 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the MAC. The MAC Offensive Player of the Week, Alyssa Jarvis, tallied a career-high five goals, while the league's Defensive Player of the Week, Meredith Leavell, made nine saves.

Coming into the game, the Titans lead the MAC and are 17th in the nation with a .464 shot percentage. They are also second in the conference and 25th in the country in free position percentage (.517), second in the league with 4.70 assists, and third in the league in clearing at .846. UDM ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring at 10.20 goals per game and has allowed just 19 total goals in its two league contests.

A win would put the Titans above the .500 mark for the first time since ending the 2018 season at 10-8.

Eastern Michigan - led by former Titan head coach Madeline Dugan - is 5-6 overall and 1-2 in MAC play, with a home victory over Youngstown State and road losses at Central Michigan and at Robert Morris.

After the game, Detroit Mercy will head home to host RMU on Saturday, Apr. 12, in a lacrosse doubleheader with the men at Noon and the women at 3:00 p.m.

OUR MAC HISTORY
  • This is the fifth season with the Titans as a member of the MAC, as UDM is 11-25 all-time in MAC games.
  • Detroit Mercy missed the playoffs the first three years but had quite a turnaround last season, going 3-3 and qualifying for the postseason, where the red, white, and blue upset top-seeded Central Michigan on the road in the semifinals before falling to Robert Morris in the title game.

NEED TO BE ROAD STRONG
  • The Titans are 42-95 all-time on the road.
  • Detroit Mercy has three road wins for the second straight season, and last year's three wins were the most since going 4-6 on the road in 2019.
  • Over half of the Titans' 271 career games have been away from the Motor City, including the 137 road games and 25 neutral site battles.

VS. EASTERN MICHIGAN
  • This is just the fourth meeting between the two schools as Eastern Michigan is one of the nation's youngest teams, having just started its program in 2023.
  • EMU leads the match-up at 2-1, including taking the only game in Ypsilanti, 17-12, to end the 2023 season.
  • Eagles head coach Madeline Dugan was the MAC Head Coach of the Year last season with the Titans and was also an assistant coach with the program in 2022.
