Titans Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

NEW ORLEANS, La. (7/21/2025) -- For their efforts in the classroom, the University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track and field teams had another great year as both programs were named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.

The men recorded a 3.35 GPA, tied for the third-best in the Horizon League. UDM has now been honored 22 times in the 23 years of the award, missing only 2003.

The women posted a 3.41 GPA, the fourth-highest in the Horizon League, as the Titans extended their streak of academic excellence to 23 consecutive years in the award's history.

The criteria for a team to be named an NCAA Division I All-Academic Team include:
  • The cumulative GPA (not 2022-23 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
