ROCHESTER, Mich. (9/14/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season on Sunday in Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate.
UDM claimed 10th with a 900 (303-297-300) at the par-71, 7,273-yard Katke-Cousins Golf Course.
Junior
David Swab led the Titans by tying for 30th with a 223 (76-77-70) as he finished the event with a 1-under 70, the best round for Detroit Mercy. On the day, he knocked in 11 pars and four birdies and posted 31 pars and seven birdies overall, both second on the Titans.
Freshman
Peyton Lawley was right behind him in his collegiate debut as he shared 33rd with a 224 (73-74-77). He also led the team with 32 pars in the event.
Redshirt sophomore
Ethan Oblak tied for 57th with a 231 (78-78-75) as he ended the tournament with a 4-over 75 by tallying 11 pars and two birdies.
Rounding out the Titans were juniors
Mason Sokolowski and
Gowtham Nalluri, who tied for 62nd with a 232.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action in two weeks at the Virtues Intercollegiate, Sept. 29-30.
