DETROIT (10/9/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's golf teams will have the opportunity to play as one as the Titans take part in Central Michigan's Motor City Match-Up.
The contest is a combined match-play event featuring six men's and women's golfers on the same team, playing for a team championship. Semifinal matches on Monday, Oct. 12, will have 12 points up for grabs - ties count as a half point. Each group will be a foursome with coinciding male and female players matches (#1 male vs #1 male and #1 female vs. #1 female). The winners of the semifinal matches will play in the championship on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and the losers will play in the consolation match.
Both days will tee off at 10:00 a.m., with the red, white and blue facing Green Bay to open competition, while host CMU battles Alabama State.
Last season, the men dropped both matches to Green Bay and Chicago State. The women fell to Green Bay, but tied CSU.
So far in the fall, the women have set a couple of school marks with par 70 and 71 tournaments and are averaging 306.3 team score. The men have averaged a 295.6 score in their three events.
