DETROIT (10/1/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team has announced that
Ainsley Shilling will be on the sidelines as an assistant coach.
Shilling has served as a club lacrosse coach in the area and just finished her playing career at Grand Valley State.
"Ainsley brings an impressive playing résumé, a strong lacrosse IQ, and valuable club coaching experience," said head coach
Emma Kuehl. "During her time at GVSU, she was a key contributor to a highly successful program and developed into a leader both on and off the field. Her energy, competitiveness, and passion for developing athletes make her an incredible addition to our staff, and I'm excited to see the impact Ainsley will have on our Titans."
Shilling has served as an associate head coach for both middle and high school student-athletes with Pure Summit Lacrosse Club since 2024. She was also a women's lacrosse official during that time.
She played in 60 career collegiate games as a midfielder and posted 55 points on 33 goals and 22 assists, along with 51 ground balls, 28 caused turnovers, and 51 draw controls. She started her career at Monmouth as a freshman, but shined her last three years with the Lakers, earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC accolades as a senior.
A team captain in her final collegiate season, she recorded 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists, picked up 24 ground balls, and had 13 caused turnovers.
As a prep, she played for Coach Kuehl at Detroit Country Day and was a two-time All-League selection as well as All-State.
Shilling graduated from GVSU with a Bachelor of Science in 2026.
