Pair Of Titans Claim Top 50 At Nationally-Ranked Georgia's Southern Intercollegiate

Junior Mason Sokolowski led the Titans at Georgia.

ATHENS, Ohio (3/16/2026) -- Junior Mason Sokolowski and redshirt sophomore Ethan Oblak both finished in the top 50 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded its spring opener in Georgia's Southern Intercollegiate on Monday.

UDM posted a 636 (310-326) for 12th at the par-72, 6,917-yard Athens Country Club in Athens, Georgia, hosted by #34 Bulldogs.

Sokolowski tied for 40th with a 157 (76-81). He started the day with 11 pars and two birdies for a 4-over 76 and then provided the highlight with an eagle in round two on the par 5 16th hole.

Oblak shared 48th with a 158 (74-84). He had the best 18 of the team with a 2-over 74 in round one, where he knocked in 11 pars and three birdies, and added three more birdies in round two.

Junior Gowtham Nalluri tied for 62nd with a 162 (80-82), while newcomer Bavake Sihota recorded a 163 (80-83) for 65th. Nalluri tallied five birdies and 14 pars on the day, and Sihota registered 16 pars and two birdies.

UDM will be back in action in two weeks when it competes in Butler's Don Benbow Spring Invitational from Mar. 30-31.
