Bavake Sihota showed the Titans what they are getting for the championship spring season as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf started Butler's Don Benbow Spring Invitational on Monday.
The Titans posted a 581 (289-292) through two rounds and are tied for ninth at the par 70, 6,551-yard Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.
After a slow start in his Titan debut at Georgia a couple of weeks ago, Sihota started his day with a 1-under 69 and then carded an even-par 70 as he is tied for 14th with a 169, just three strokes out of the top five. He began round one with two birdies and seven pars in his first nine holes and added two more birdies for his under-par performance, and came back in the afternoon with two birdies and 14 pars for his even 70 card.

Gowtham Nalluri is tied for 29th with a 143 (70-73) as he recorded seven pars and five birdes in round one - ending the morning session with four birdies in his last six holes -Â and had 10 pars and two birdies in the second round.

David Swab and redshirt sophomore
Ethan Oblak both shot 150 and share 71st, while junior
Mason Sokolowski is in 77th with a 151 (76-75).Â
Swab (74-76) knocked in 15 pars for his 4-over 74 in round one, while Oblak (76-74) tallied 15 pars for his 76 in round two. Meanwhile, Sokolowski ended with a pair of birdies in both rounds.
The final round of the event will tee off at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.Â
