Bavake Sihota posted one of the best marks in school history as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf wrapped up Butler's Don Benbow Spring Invitational on Tuesday
Detroit Mercy totaled a season-best 867 (289-292-286) for ninth at the par 70, 6,551-yard Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The 867 is tied for ninth in school history and the best round since an 861 (290, 286, 285) at the NYX Hoosier Invite in 2012, while the final round 286 is the best since tallying a 277 in the final round of last year's Tom Tontimonia Invitational.
Sihota finished sixth overall with a collegiate-best 207 (69-70-68), the fourth-best 54-hole total in school history and the best since Anthony Occhiuto's school-record 204 at the 2019 NKU Collegiate Classic.
He was at par or better in all three rounds as he finished the final 18 with a career-tying 2-under 68, knocking in 12 pars and four birdies. Overall, he was tied for 10th with 37 pars, tied for 16th with 10 birdies, and tied for 10th on the course's par 4's with a -2, 3.94 average among the competition.
Nalluri placed 38th with a 217 (70-73-74) - just three shots off his career low - while junior
Mason Sokolowski shot a 219 (76-75-68) for 53rd. Nalluri had 11 pars and two birdes in his final round, and Sokolowski registered a great day, knocking in 11 pars and four birdies for his career-best 2-under 68.

David Swab and sophomore
Ethan Oblak both tallied a 226 for a share of 75th, a career low for Oblak, while Swab was tied for fourth in the field with a +1, 3.08 average on the par 3's.
UDM will now get ready for the NKU Jewell Invitational next week, Apr. 6-7, at the Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
