Titans Add Local Flavor In Transfer Jordan Briggs

Jordan Briggs will bring his high-scoring talent to UDM.
DETROIT (4/14/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team has announced that Wayne State transfer Jordan Briggs has committed to the Titans.

Briggs played in 84 games in his three seasons with the Warriors, averaging 10.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds, netting double figures in 41 contests. He left WSU 10th in school history in field-goal percentage (.825), 14th in free throws (259), and 17th in assists (213).

"Jordan is a player who can score the basketball and run a team," said head coach Mark Montgomery. "He has improved every year on the court, and his hard work and leadership should transition well to our team. He is also a great student-athlete and has earned a few academic awards in his career."

As a junior, he was tabbed First Team All-GLIAC after posting 17.0 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds, and coming away with 29 steals. He shot 42.1% from the field and 88.2% at the line, sinking 44 triples. He had eight 20-point efforts, including a career-best 36 points at home against Ferris State, where he was 13-of-16 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the arc, along with five assists, five steals, and three blocks.

He was also a two-time honoree on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team and CSC Academic All-District Team, as received the 2024-25 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

As a prep at Muskegon High School, he was selected to the 2023 BCAM's Best of the Best and the Associated Press Division 1 All-State First Team after averaging 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds per contest. Briggs helped the program to a 26-3 record and an appearance in the state championship game as a senior, where he crossed the 1,000-point plateau and set MHS records for three-pointers made in a season and a career.
