Alyssa Jarvis and redshirt freshman
Avary Sacdalan each had multiple goals, but it was not enough as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-5 decision at Robert Morris on Saturday.
Jarvis ended with two goals, an assist, a caused turnover, three draw controls, and a ground ball. Sacdalan had a season-high two goals and a ground ball, and senior
Libby Cuckler added a marker, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
Redshirt freshman
Emily Coyne made 13 saves and picked up five GB's. Senior
Angelina Hook had a takeaway and a career-high four ground balls, and senior
Vanessa Evans posted a career-tying two caused turnovers, a draw, and a GB.
Despite three saves from Coyne, Robert Morris (6-11, 3-4 MAC) took a 3-0 lead, but the run was stopped shortly after as freshman
Chloe Sheader set up Sacdalan for her first goal at the 4:40 mark of the first.Â
The Colonials opened an 11-1 advantage in the third when UDM took advantage of a card, and Jarvis located Cuckler for the goal.
In the fourth, a caused turnover by Hook led to Sheader finding Jarvis for a score. Jarvis would add a free position goal a couple of minutes later, and Sacdalan ended the game with a woman-up strike with 13 seconds remaining.
Sheader finished with two assists and tied her season high with four draw controls. Senior
Jane Peck registered a caused turnover and ground ball, and redshirt freshman
Ava Bandi and senior
Ashley Bates picked up a pair of ground balls.Â
The game concluded the 18th varsity campaign in school history.
Game Notes:
- Robert Morris leads the all-time series, 13-2, and is 7-1 at home
- Cuckler finished her career tied for seventh in school history with 36 assists and posted 97 career points, including 61 goals
- Jarvis ended the season leading the team with a career-high 36 points, 22 goals, a career-best 14 assists and 42 draw controls
- Jarvis ended her career with 188 draw controls, second in the record book, fourth in school history with 3.19 draws per game, and 104 points on 82 goals and 22 assists, all top 20 in the Titan record book
- Coyne posted double-digit saves in three games, all in the final four of the season
- Sheader also had a multi-point game in the season opener with a goal and an assist against Butler, where she also had four draws
- Sacdalan also had two goals at Central Michigan
- Hook ended her career with 24 caused turnovers and 49 ground balls
- Bates joined the team after playing four years of soccer and registered her first stats with two ground balls
