HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (4/26/2026) -- Two Titans battled for All-Tournament honors and finished in the top 12 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up the Horizon League Golf Championship on Monday.
As a team, Detroit Mercy totaled a 902 (295-301-306) for eighth, seven shots outside of the top five, at the par 72, 6,868-yard El Campeon course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. The 902 was UDM's best score at the league event since 2014.
Junior
Gowtham Nalluri and graduate senior
Bavake Sihota led the way as Nalluri tied for seventh with a 220 (74-71-75) and Sihota shared 11th with a 221 (71-73-77).
Nalluri - whose 220 was his best score on the course in three trips to the postseason by 10 strokes and the best by a Titan since Wil Wittmann's 217 in 2016 - registered a 3-over 75 on the day. He had two birdies and 11 pars and ended the event leading the team with 32 pars. He was also tied for second in the event on the par 3's with an even-par 3.00 average.
Sihota had a slow start but then caught fire on the back nine, knocking in three birdies and five pars for his 77. He led the team with 11 birdies in the tournament, tied for fifth among the competition, and had 29 pars.Â
Junior
Mason Sokolowski had a great finish to the postseason, carding a 1-under 71 in the final round and tying for 28th with a 227 (82-74-71), his best score in the postseason. He had five birdies and 10 pars, including a run of 12 holes where he had five birdies and six pars.
Rounding out the Titans were junior
David Swab and redshirt sophomore
Ethan Oblak, who both tallied a 243 for 46th.
