Prior to Detroit: Participated in field hockey and basketball at Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, B.C...Was named the MVP of her field ockey team in grade 12...Participated in softball for the White Rock Renegades as Marriott SS did not sponsor softball...As a member of the Renegades, Gill won a gold medal at the 2006 Canadian Championship...Came up just short of another title in 2005 when her White Rock squad placed second to former Titan Kaleigh Rafter's Guelph team...Halped lead her teams to a trio of Canada Cups and led her team in slugging percentage in 2004 and 2005 while posting batting averages of .412 and .380, respectively...
