Biography

2010-11: Named the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Apr. 12 after a 4-0 week. She paired with junior Amanda Cornwell for pair of wins at No. 1 doubles with a 8-7 (7-2) victory over Green Bay on April 8 and followed that with a 8-0 defeat over Milwaukee on Apr. 9... Started at No. 1 doubles with Cornwell in all but three dual matches in regular season... Shared a team-high nine doubles wins including closing the year with five out of seven wins... Went 3-0 in doubles in the Horizon League Tournament. With Cornwell, started with an 8-2 win over Wright State's top pairing in the first round before taking down UIC's top duo 8-6, a win over the eventual Horizon League Champion. Finished the Tournament with a 9-8 (10-8) tiebreaker win over Butler's No. 1 doubles team helping the Titans to a third place finish... In singles, won five of her last six completed match-ups with a team-high eight match wins during the dual season... Earned second team All-Conference honors... Named the team's MVP as recognized by the coaches... Member of the Horizon League's 2010 Fall and 2011 Spring Academic Honor Roll... Named to the 2010 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2009-10: Selected the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year…Just the third Titan in school history to earn that accolade…Also tabbed All-HL first team and team MVP…Was 15-13 in singles and 6-2 in conference play…Her 15 singles wins and 29 total victories were good for third on the squad, while seven of her singles wins were at No. 1 with another four at No. 2…She started the dual season as the Titan No. 2 netter, but quickly rose to the top spot anchoring Detroit’s turnaround in the middle of the year…Also posted another 14 victories in doubles playing with sophomore Amanda Cornwell, which includes the Mastodon Invitational doubles flight title in the fall…A victor in her first collegiate match besting Youngstown State’s Sarah Lynch, 6-0, 6-3, at the BGSU Invitational…Toppled Wright State’s Kenisha Webb, 7-6 (4), 6-2, for her first HL win…Took out Cleveland State’s Catrine Bjerrehus, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, helping the Titans down the Vikings, 4-1, in the second round of the HL Championships…A member of the Titan Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: 2008 graduate of Preparatoria No. 7… Runner-up at the Campeonato de Mexico in 2007… Advanced to the semifinals round of the JITIC (International Tennis Federation, Grade 3) in 2007… Captured Nuevo Leon Statal Regionals singles title in 2006, ‘08 and ‘09… Advanced to the semifinal round of the regionals in 2007… Won doubles at Nuevo Leon nationals in 2005… Claimed the first-ever national tournament doubles title in 2005 in Monterrey with Pamela Montez, who now plays at UCLA… Played for Fernando Ochoa’s Tennis Academy for three years.
