The Detroit Titans women's lacrosse team played in its lone game over Spring Break at Le Moyne College Thursday afternoon in Syracuse, NY, and the Titans fell to the Dolphins by a score of 20-7. With the loss, UDM now stands at 1-3 on the year, while Le Moyne improves to 1-3 overall.
Freshman
Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) started the scoring, yet again for the Titans, as she found the back of the net just over three minutes into the game. Sophomore
Olivia Mendoza (Lansing, MI/Ferrum) scored at the 4:10 mark and Mia Valletta added one more goal before the buzzer to give the Dolphins a 10-3 advantage at the break.
Freshman
Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI) scored Detroit's first goal of the second stanza at 22:06 for her seventh goal of the season. Boissonneault tacked on two more for the Titans, both unassisted, to end tied for a game-high four goals.
Rebekah Elmer collected four goals for the Dolphins, while McKenzie Gray added seven assists on the day for Le Moyne.
Detroit freshman goalie
Brett Yenger (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) stopped 11 of Le Moyne's shots on goal in 60 minutes, while Kelly Fucillo collected seven saves on the afternoon.
The Titans will return to the field when they host Duquesne on March 15 at Titan Field at 1 p.m.
