Detroit sophomore
Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson), who ended with a game-high six goals, did not waste any time in scoring as she found the back of the net just 41 seconds into the contest and then tacked on another goal 32 seconds later. Freshman
Erin Campbell (Orangeville, ON/Orangeville District Secondary) followed Boissonneault's lead and scored two consecutive goals herself, with the second coming just over eight minutes into the game.
St. Francis sophomore Kate Simmons netted the Red Flash's first goal at the 21:16 mark, which was unassisted.
The Titans then scored five straight, two from both sophomore
Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace) and Boissonneault, along with one from freshman
Lindsey Saunders (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) for her first collegiate goal. With two more goals from St. Francis and another from Eidem when UDM was down a player, the Titans took a 10-3 advantage with them at the break.
Detroit opened up the second half with four consecutive goals, all from different Titans and after Boissonneault netted her final goal of the day, UDM sophomore
Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI), who ended with a game-best two assists, scored an unassisted goal with just under a minute remaining.
Sophomore
Brett Yenger (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) played every minute in net for the Titans and tallied 18 saves, while allowing five goals. Junior Danielle Pokusa started in net for the Red Flash to earn the loss as she gave up 15 goals and collected seven saves on the afternoon.
