Women's Lacrosse Comes Up Short Against Jacksonville

Detroit sophomore Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) netted a game-high four goals, but the Titans were edged by Jacksonville, 15-13, in a National Lacrosse Conference match-up on neutral ground at Old Bailey Stadium in Clinton, SC, Saturday morning.

The Titans were down by a score of 14-7 in the middle of the second half and then UDM went on to score six consecutive goals to pull within one, but Jacksonville found the back of the net with 1:15 remaining to help secure the two-goal victory for the Dolphins. During the scoring spurt for the Titans, sophomore Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace) netted all three of her goals, while freshman Lindsey Saunders (Pasadena, MD/Northeast), Boissonneault and sophomore Corina Mahron (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI) each scored one.

UDM sophomore Erin Campbell (Orangeville, ON/Orangeville District Secondary), Saunders and Mahorn each ended with two goals, while Eidem, Boissonneault and Campbell each earned one assist on the day, along with sophomore Kandice Bogatz (Staten Island, NY/Curtis).

Sophomore Brett Yenger (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) tallied 15 saves and allowed 15 JU goals in 60 minutes of action, while freshman Karli Tobin saw action in net the entire game for the Dolphins and collected 12 saves, while allowing 13 goals.

JU had a 28-23 advantage in ground balls and the Dolphins amassed 39 shots to the Titans' 27.

Detroit returns to action on Friday, March 5 when the Titans host Cincinnati at Titan Field at 3 p.m.
