Detroit then had a man advantage and Boissonneault netted Detroit's final goal of the opening stanza and the Titans ended up leading 6-4 at the break.

Boissonneault scored her final goal of the night with help from sophomore Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI) at the 20:11 mark to give the Titans a two-goal advantage (8-6), but the Purple Eagles responded with three-straight goals to take a 9-8 lead with less than 10 minutes left in the game.
