Sophomore Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace) scored four goals and the UDM women's lacrosse team led from start to finish as Detroit blasted Liberty, 19-5, on Saturday afternoon at Titan Field.

The victory was Detroit's second straight and pushed its record to 6-8 overall, 3-2 in National Lacrosse Conference play. Liberty fell to 1-9 (1-3 NLC).

While Eidem led the Titan offense with her seven points, including a three assists, three teammates – Zaynib Hamze (Dublin, CA/Dublin), Olivia Mendoza (Lansing, MI / Catholic Central) and Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) – all tallied three goals of their own. Boissonneault's first score, which put the Titans up 1-0 just 2:11 into the contest, was the 100th of the sophomore's college career.

Detroit scored 11 straight goals to open the game and gave a big cushion to freshman goalie Marybeth Flanagan (Lansing, MI/Waverly), who was making her first start as a Titan. Flanagan registered five saves en route to picking up the victory.

“M.B. stepped up and played well in goal,” Titans coach Mary Ann Meltzer complimented.

“I thought we really came out and played well as a team. We played hard and we played together. We had some players out of position because of a short bench and we had to communicate. We did that really well at both ends of the field.”

The Titans are now idle until Friday, when they host LeMoyne at Titan Field. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
